Biography
Mavo, born Marvin Oseremen, is a Nigerian Afrobeats artist from Ekpoma, Edo State. His melodic records sit between nightlife energy, street culture and modern romance, capturing young life in motion: crowded rooms, late nights, ambition and the emotional realities that come with chasing success.
Drawing from the pulse of Lagos nightlife while retaining the cultural imprint of his Edo roots, Mavo is developing a sound with its own place in Nigeria's evolving musical landscape.
His early records “Ukanigbe,” “Sanko” and “Sanko II” introduced him as one of the emerging voices in Nigeria's new Afrobeats wave, establishing a style built on confident melodies and conversational songwriting. That momentum continued with the release of “Kilometer,” which strengthened his fanbase and expanded his presence across Nigeria's streaming ecosystem.
The follow-up, “Kilometer II,” extended his reach as songs including “Escaladizzy” and “Shakabulizzy” gained traction across streaming platforms and TikTok. The viral momentum around “Escaladizzy” led into high-profile collaborations, including “Escaladizzy II” with Zlatan, Shallipopi and Ayra Starr, CKay's “Body (danz),” “Shakabulizzy (Remix)” with Davido, and “Money Constant” alongside DJ Maphorisa, DJ Tunez and Wizkid.
More recent records such as “Use Me” and “Mofe” continue to expand the emotional range of his music, exploring love, ambition and the lifestyle surrounding both. With millions of streams and a growing international listenership, Mavo is part of the generation shaping the next chapter of Afrobeats.
